Mũi Né isn't one beach — it's a ten-kilometre chain of sandbanks, each with its own character. Depending on wind, swell, your level, and the time of day, Phi will pick the right spot for you. This guide is for those who want to understand before they arrive.

Malibu — Phi's home beach
In the western part of Mũi Né, Malibu is where Phi teaches every day. Soft sand, shallow inside, no rocks. The Northeast-monsoon side-onshore wind pushes kiters back to the beach if anything goes wrong — maximum safety for beginners.
The beauty of Malibu: the beach break is also the easiest surf spot in Mũi Né. Waves 0.8–1.5 m, clean peel. Same beach, same day: morning surf session, afternoon kite session on the outside.

Phi's tipEarly morning (6–8 am) is glassy and light — ideal for surf and first-time kite sessions. Wind builds from 11 am, perfect for intermediate/advanced.

Back Beach · Main kite
Back Beach — the kite mecca
Also called "Bãi sau" or "Main Kite Beach", this is where most kiters gather during the high monsoon season. Stronger wind than Malibu, wider beach, plenty of room to self-launch.
Best suited for intermediate and advanced riders chasing 20+ knots. Sometimes choppier. Phi brings advanced students here for boosted jumps and strapless sessions.

Suối Tiên — slow it down
Near the Fairy Stream, this stretch isn't a primary riding spot — but it's where Phi takes students for sunset rides and scenery. The famous red sand dunes sit right behind.
Wind is sometimes offshore here, so not recommended for solo kite. But the waves are small and clean — great for beginners on a soft-top.

Phi's tipPair a morning surf with a walk up the Fairy Stream — one of the most beautiful experiences in Mũi Né. Phi knows the best coffee spot in the area too.

Ông Địa — the locals' spot
A small beach between the tourist strip and Phan Thiết city. Most visitors miss it — which is exactly why Phi and his local friends ride here when they want quiet. Wind stays steady, waves often cleaner than the main beach on crowded days.
Suits riders who already have a level and want to avoid the crowd. Also the best late-afternoon light for photos and video.

Phi's tipIf Back Beach is overcrowded (common around Tết, Vietnamese New Year), Phi takes you here. The 4–5 pm light is legendary for photos and video.

Phan Thiết — for a change of scene
If you're in Mũi Né for more than a week and want to switch things up, Phi suggests a day in Phan Thiết city (15 minutes away). Longer beach, fewer tourists, much stronger local culture. Wind direction can differ — requires condition reading.
Not one of Phi's main spots, but he takes intermediate+ students here to broaden their experience. Cap the session with a seafood lunch at the local fish market — one of the best meals of your life, guaranteed.
